Entering targeted meets with Aqualicious

While many train with Aqualicious just for fitness or fun, if you want to compete in swim carnivals we provide a great deal of coaching and support. Every year Team Aqualicious picks a list of targeted meets that we focus on as a team. Our coach Lawrie will give you advice on entering events and will focus your training leading up to the meet.

You can find a list of our targeted meets here:

List of Targeted meets for 2012

Before each targed meet we will have a team registration session, where committee members will be at the pool to help people with their registration and to take a cash payment. If you can't make the registration day, send an email to registrar@aqualicious.com.au with your events and nominated times, and we will send bank transfer payment instructions (the club forwards a single group payment for everyone).

How to register for other events

Although we focus as a team on the targeted meets, members are welcome to do other meets on their own, and open-water swims are becoming increasingly popular.

Non-targeted meets

The Queensland Masters Swimming website has a listing of all the meets being held in the state.

To sign up to a non-targeted meet, download the entry forms from the Events Calendar of the Masters Swimming Queensland website, and send in your completed form and registration payment directly to the club holding the meet, as written on the entry form. For entering swim meets please write down the name of our club as "QAL". If you have questions about your nominated times or the entry procedure, just ask our coach Lawrie or one of the committee members for advice.

Open-water swims

A listing of open-water swims around Australia can be found here: http://www.oceanswims.com/

Some popular open-water swims on the Sunshine Coast are held by USM Events: http://www.usmevents.com.au/

To enter an open-water swim, you will have to register yourself through the organisation holding the meet, using the instructions on their website. As always, just ask the committee if you've any questions!
